In Health & Inequality

We uncovered how generative artificial intelligence creates images that are even more biased than humans. We highlighted how corporate America kept a key promise after the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020: It hired more people of color. And while regional banks were collapsing, we charted how a relic of the Great Depression was propping up banks, instead of the homeowners it was supposed to support.

In Global Conflicts

The US Commerce Department is tasked with championing American business—and that’s meant US government employees have effectively become gun industry sales reps. We mapped the empire of the Wagner Group after its leader died under mysterious circumstances.
